Job Description And Duties

Under general direction of the Communications Division Director, the Program Manager serves as the statewide lead for the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) Program and related federal broadband funding initiatives. The incumbent directs and oversees BEAD program implementation, including federal grant administration, policy development, compliance monitoring, reporting, stakeholder coordination, and supervision of multidisciplinary staff. The position ensures California’s BEAD program aligns with federal NTIA requirements, State policy direction, and Commission objectives to expand broadband access statewide.

This role exercises full managerial authority over BEAD program operations and serves as the Division’s principal advisor on BEAD policy, funding, and implementation strategy.

  • Tell us about your experience in planning and organizing complex work for multiple teams at the same time, including building resource needs, allocating roles and responsibilities, and employee development.
