Vice President of Accounting

A leading global financial services firm is seeking a VP/Sr Director of Accounting Operations to join its finance leadership team. This role will oversee the strategic direction and day-to-day management of the company’s billing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable functions while driving process improvements, automation, and operational scalability across the organization.

Reporting to the Chief Accounting Officer
, this leader will play a critical role in modernizing accounting operations, strengthening internal controls, and supporting the continued growth of a dynamic public company environment.

Strategic Leadership

• Develop and execute a long-term strategy for accounting operations, focusing on scalability, process optimization, and technology adoption.
• Partner closely with senior finance leadership to align accounting operations with broader business goals.
• Support integration of accounting processes for new business initiatives and acquisitions.
• Lead and develop a global team responsible for billing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable
  .
• Establish clear performance objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive operational excellence.
• Foster a high-performance, collaborative team culture focused on continuous improvement.

Process & Systems

• Identify and implement automation and process improvements across the procure-to-pay and billing cycles.
• Support ongoing implementation and optimization of financial systems, including Oracle ERP

• Ensure strong internal controls and compliance with SOX requirements across accounting operations.

Operational Oversight

• Oversee the end-to-end billing cycle, ensuring accurate invoicing, collections, and cash application.
• Manage accounts payable operations including vendor management, payment processing, and expense management.
• Monitor performance metrics and drive efficiency across accounting operations.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 10+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience
  , including leadership responsibility
• Proven experience managing billing, accounts receivable, and/or accounts payable teams
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and SOX compliance
• Experience in a public company environment
• Demonstrated success implementing process improvements and financial systems
• Experience with Oracle ERP strongly preferred
• Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
