Service Line Director (CVI)
The Service Line Director (CVI) is responsible for the strategic, operational, and financial oversight of a service line across Keck Medicine of USC, and community practices. This role provides leadership for operational budgets, program planning, and the effective allocation of human and material resources. The Service Line Director ensures the development, implementation, and consistent application of patient care standards across the service line, maintaining compliance with policies, procedures, and professional practice standards while delivering efficient, high-quality, and cost-effective care.
Using data and performance metrics, the Service Line Director drives access, growth, cost management, and operational efficiency, and leads process improvement initiatives, system implementations, and facility projects aligned with Keck Medicine of USC's goals. Key responsibilities include supporting practice growth and new service opportunities and ensuring sound financial stewardship. The Service Line Director mentors and supports managers and directors, effectively delegates responsibilities, and fosters a collaborative, high-performing leadership culture.
As an active member of the leadership team, the Service Line Director communicates regularly with senior leadership, department administrators, division chiefs, and Department Chairs to ensure alignment, transparency, and shared accountability for service line performance. The Service Line Director provides strategic, clinical, and operational leadership for the health system's cardiovascular services, ensuring integrated, high-quality care across inpatient, outpatient, surgical, procedural, and ancillary settings.
This role drives service line growth, access, and performance through data-driven decision-making, financial stewardship, and standardization of care models, while advancing quality, safety, patient experience, and outcomes. The leader partners closely with physician leadership to align clinical strategy, research, education, and innovation with system priorities, and oversees program development, resource allocation, and operational efficiency across multiple sites of care. As a key member of the health system leadership team, the Service Line Director fosters collaboration, advances new service offerings and technologies, strengthens referral networks, and positions the organization as a destination center for comprehensive cardiovascular health care.

- Bachelor's Degree In related field.
- 5-7 years Operational experience in a healthcare facility preferably with a blend of outpatient and inpatient or ancillary experience.
- Proficient in MS Office, Outlook and HRMS System.
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
- Capable of communicating with all levels of employee-administrative to staff.
- Critical thinking skills.
- Able to function independently and as a member of a team.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, planning and evaluation skills.
- Master's degree In related field in progress or completed.
- 3 years Operational oversight or experience in cardiovascular service line (e.g. cath lab, cardiology, cardiac surgery, etc.)
Licenses/Certifications:
- Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only)
