Mill Operator

Compensation: $19.84 - $20.83 (plus weekly production bonus); potential average $25.00 - $30.00 per hour.

• Assists workers engaged in the formation of sheet metal products by performing any combination of the following tasks:
  Lifts, positions, and removes work pieces from machines to assist in fitting.
• Loads, stacks, and transports goods using the Crane.
• able to drive a forklift
• Cleans and scrapes metal preparatory to punch the tube using the roll forming machine.
• Cuts material using saw cutting machine.
• Works with mill & roll form machines.
• Oversee and operate all the section of the mill line.
• Produce quality material that meets customer expectations.
• Schedule and perform regular size changes.
• Participate and perform regular maintenance on the line.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Train and ensure understanding of other positions in the mill line.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

• Able to work 10–12-hour rotational shifts as needed, overtime, weekends, and holidays.
• Minimum of one year of crane operating experience.
• Able to lift 50 lbs.
• Possess the ability to work with hand tools.
• Being able to read a tape measure.

• Previous experience working for a manufacturing company preferred.
• 1-2 years of mill operator/ roll forming experience, preferred.
