Title:Trim, Branding Development and Purchasing Manager
Classification:Exempt
Salary Range*:$120,000-$140,000
Location:HQ (Van Nuys, CA) 4 days a week, 1 day remote
Schedule*:FULL TIME-Monday through Friday 9:00AM-6:00PM
The Trim, Branding Development and Purchasing Manager is responsible for leading the end-to-end development and execution of trims, packaging, labels and all retail store materials, and branding components across all DÔEN product categories.
This role partners closely with Design, Marketing, Product Development, Technical Design, Production, Sourcing, Quality, Operations and external suppliers to ensure all trim and branding components meet DÔEN's aesthetic vision, quality standards, compliance requirements, cost objectives, and seasonal Calendar milestones.
Key Responsibilities Seasonal Trim & Branding Development- Execute all trim and branding development activities in alignment with the DÔEN Product Creation Calendar.
- Develop trims, packaging, labels, hardware, and all branding components according to DÔEN design specifications, quality standards, and compliance requirements.
- Lead seasonal trim and branding presentations in support of key Calendar milestones.
- Research, collect, and organize supplier developments, innovations, and seasonal collections for internal review.
- Partner with Design, Marketing and Product Development to translate creative direction into commercially viable trim solutions.
- Prepare and distribute trim development briefs to suppliers for all categories.
- Obtain supplier feasibility assessments, lead times, costing, and development recommendations.
- Manage trim sampling throughout development, including approvals, revisions, and re-submissions.
- Manage all trim production LOTS to be within Dôen’s approval standards.
- Manage, develop and drive the Time and Action for all new branding, trim development within the seasonal product development cycle as well as the branding, gifting, PR materials.
- Coordinate development timelines to ensure on-time readiness for seasonal milestones.
- Crate, process and maintain all sampling and bulk purchase orders for packaging, and branding materials insuring accurate pricing quantities, delivery dates and suppliers.
- Partner with Design, Marketing, Product Development, Technical Design, Production, Sourcing, and Quality teams throughout the development process.
- Resolve technical, construction, quality, and manufacturability challenges with suppliers.
- Ensure trims are development and production ready for Proto Review, Sales Sample, Collection Review and bulk Production milestones.
- Provide regular status updates on trim development, risks, and mitigation plans.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen supplier collaboration and development efficiency.
- Create and maintain Trim (S) Codes.
- Ensure accurate pricing, supplier information, specifications, and preliminary costing are maintained.
- Upload approved trim images, specifications, and development documentation into BOMs.
- Maintain complete and accurate development records to support cross-functional visibility and reporting.
- Ensure physical reference libraries of approved trims and sundries are maintained for seasonal development.
- Ensure all trims and sundries meet DÔEN quality standards and performance requirements.
- Coordinate Restricted Substances List (RSL) compliance testing and required quality validation during development.
- Track testing status and communicate results to internal stakeholders.
- Partner with suppliers to resolve quality concerns prior to production.
- Ensure all approved trims are production-ready before commercialization.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with global trim and branding suppliers.
- Evaluate supplier capabilities, innovation, quality performance, lead times, and commercial competitiveness.
- Drive supplier accountability for development timelines, quality, and responsiveness.
- Support supplier innovation by identifying new materials, finishes, sustainability initiatives, and manufacturing capabilities.
