Griffith Observatory Foundation is the exclusive non-profit partner of Griffith Observatory, owned and operated by the City of Los Angeles, Recreation and Parks Department. Our mission is to support and promote Griffith Observatory as a hub for science literacy, education, and public astronomy through resource development and community advocacy.
ABOUT THE POSITION
Title: Associate Director of Development
Reports to: Executive Director
Status: Full-time (exempt)
We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic fundraiser to serve as the lead for Development activities. This role is responsible for developing and implementing cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies. The Associate Director of Development (ADOD) will manage a major gifts portfolio, oversee the Legacy Giving program, and supervise the Annual Giving and Membership Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage a portfolio of donors and prospects to grow the major giving program, known as the Vanguard Society.Develop and execute a comprehensive cultivation and stewardship plan, building relationships with major donors through personal interactions, including phone calls, visits, and engagement opportunities.Cultivate prospects for the Infinity Society (Legacy Giving Program).Solicit gifts ranging from $1,000 to $10,000.Supervise the Annual Giving and Membership Manager.Coordinate with Administrative Services to identify, qualify, and manage prospects.Maintain detailed records of donor outreach, giving history, and stewardship activities.Implement and oversee regular donor engagement activities both on-site and off-site.Assist in creating and executing an annual multi-channel Giving Program plan to meet organizational goals.Support Board Members in their fundraising participation.Prepare progress and financial reports for the Executive Director and Board of Directors.Utilize Blackbaud Altru database for tracking activities and generating reports.Collaborate with Marketing, Communications, consultants, and team members as needed.This position was posted two years ago by Kevin Perez.
