Reporting to the Manager, Volunteer and Community Engagement, the Volunteer and Community Engagement Assistant will support all day-to-day activities of Baby2

Baby’s volunteer program and community outreach initiatives. This is a full-time position responsible for helping to facilitate all volunteer sessions, tracking and analyzing data, and supporting community engagement efforts. Given the nature of the work, candidates must excel at working both independently and in collaboration with others. The ideal candidate will be a people person who thrives in social environments while also being comfortable working autonomously.

The Volunteer and Community Engagement Assistant will work Monday – Friday at 5830 W. Jefferson Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90016. The work is performed in both an office and warehouse setting.

• Facilitates daily volunteer sessions, including set up and breakdown.
• Teaches volunteers about Baby2
  
  Baby and mission related projects.
• Tracks and analyzes volunteer data.
• Maintains inventory for Baby2
  
  Baby’s special programming.
• Assists with community engagement efforts, including holiday programs, back to school efforts and responsive programming.
• Fields volunteer questions through general volunteer email account.
• Assists with volunteer recognition and appreciation efforts.
• Researches and attends mission-related community fairs and events.
• Assists with miscellaneous office duties, including purchasing and expense reporting.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Physical demands include ability to lift up to 50lbs and stand for long periods.
• Proficient in Canva and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive and Calendar).

• Highly personable and energized by interpersonal connections with diverse populations.
• Excellent oral communication with the ability to speak professionally, publicly and confidently to donors and volunteers.
• Strong organizational, time-management and multi-tasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Out of the boxer thinker, problem-solver and ability to think creatively with an artistic eye.
• Spanish speaking highly preferred.

This role’s salary range is between $20-$23/hr actual salary is determined based on a number of factors, including but not limited to your relevant skills, qualifications, and years of experience.
