SUMMARY:

We are looking for an intern with a passion for education and entertainment to join the Social Impact and Education division of ARRAY Alliance, the non‑profit arm of filmmaker Ava DuVernay's media collective, ARRAY. We seek a motivated and resourceful intern who is excited to bring critical thinking and sharp analytical skills to our company. The intern will ideally demonstrate an interest in research and education, journalistic pursuits and social activism and contribute to our learning platform, www.array
101.org. In this position you will be expected to:

  • Draft, proof‑read and suggest ideas for the development of educational websites aligned with our social impact content.
  • Support our social impact and education work through research.
  • Gather and track key data on specific topics surrounding upcoming campaigns and initiatives.
  • Research and analyze social issues in the education arena.
  • Learn about how film content and storytelling can be used to catalyze social impact and promote education and dialogue around critical social issues.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college, university or trade school with experience and/or coursework in Social Justice, Education, Film, a combination of these areas or similar fields.
  • This internship must be eligible for academic credit.
  • Ability to manage many administrative tasks at once and take initiative to organize incoming data requests, documents and emails.
  • Exceptional research ability to cover a lot of information quickly and synthesize into manageable sized reports and documents.
  • Ability to thrive in fast‑paced environments and work on a dynamic team.
  • Strong interest in advocacy, education, philanthropy, and/or social entrepreneurship.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
