Registered Nurse - Cath Lab

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care in the Cath Lab, including diagnostic and interventional procedures.
• Administer and monitor procedural sedation and manage dysrhythmias.
• Perform diagnostic right and left heart catheterizations and interventional catheterizations.
• Manage pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring.
• Maintain accurate computerized documentation using Epic charting system.
• Participate in on-call rotations, approximately 5-6 shifts every 2 weeks, with a 30-minute response time.
• Ensure infection prevention and adhere to isolation precautions and PPE guidelines.

• Proficiency in Epic charting system.
• Experience with electrophysiology procedures, interventional radiology, and special procedures in the Cath Lab.
• Ability to perform scrub procedures, including TAVR, TEE, and cardiac stent placement.
• Competence in administering and monitoring a range of medications, including antiarrhythmics and thrombolytics.
• Skilled in the use of external compression devices, vascular closure systems, and ventilator management.
• Knowledge of radiation and laser safety protocols.

• Minimum of 1 year of Cath Lab experience required; 3 years preferred.
• Previous charge experience preferred.
• Experience in a teaching hospital is preferred.
• Travel experience is required.
• Certifications:
  
  ACLS and LA City Fire Card required.
