As an integral member of the patient care team, the Registered Nurse supports the Chief Nursing Officer in providing safe, effective, and compassionate care to patients through the application of the nursing process, regulatory compliance, quality improvement, and collaborative leadership.

• Implement the nursing process: assessment, nursing diagnosis, care planning, education, intervention, evaluation, and revision.
• Practice in compliance with CMS Conditions of Participation, Title 22, CDPH regulations, DNV‑GL/NIAHO standards, and other regulatory requirements.
• Support the department manager and director in quality improvement initiatives and growth of unit services.
• Provide education and advocacy to patients, families, and staff.
• Assist the charge nurse with shift‑level planning and delivery of patient care.
• Precept and competency validate new hires and develop new procedures.
• Delegate clinical tasks to RNs, LVNs, and CNAs as appropriate.
• Coordinate the assigned team and communicate expectations regarding interventions and reporting.

• Graduation from a Registered Nurse Program. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) desired; if not obtained upon hire, must be earned within five years.
• Minimum one year of clinical experience in an acute‑care setting; preference for orthopedics and stroke populations.
• Cardiac Cath Lab experience: one year in ICU, step‑down, or ER plus additional experience in IR, EP, or Cardiac Cath Lab.
• 6th Floor Med/Surg Nurses: two years of orthopedic and medical‑surgical nursing experience, with specialty certification preferred.
• Required:
  
  California Registered Nurse license; clinical specialty or management certification desired.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required for all units.
• Additional certifications per unit: PALS for GI Lab, PACU/SDS; AB508, NIHSS, NRP, ENPC for ED; AB508 for Geropsych; and NIHSS, PALS, NRP for ICU/5S, 4th Telemetry, 6th Med Surg, and Float Pool.
• All certifications must be active at the effective date of hire unless otherwise indicated.

Hourly rate range: $47.58 to $76.68.
