Labor and Delivery Nurse

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Labor and Delivery Nurse to join our team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to expectant mothers and their newborns in a supportive and collaborative environment. You will be an integral part of a team focused on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care during the labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum periods. As a Labor and Delivery Nurse, you will monitor maternal and fetal well-being, assist with vaginal and cesarean births, administer medications, and provide education and support to patients and their families.

The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for women's health.

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring patients, including assessment, monitoring, and intervention.
• Monitor fetal heart rate and maternal vital signs, recognizing and responding to potential complications.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including pain management.
• Assist with vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections.
• Provide immediate postpartum care to mothers and newborns.
• Educate patients and families on labor, delivery, newborn care, and postpartum recovery.
• Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Document patient care accurately and completely in the electronic health record.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Labor and Delivery Nurse.
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Active Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Active Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
• AWHONN or C-EFM certification.

• 3 years of experience as a Labor and Delivery Nurse.
• Previous charge nurse experience.

• Proficiency in antepartum and intrapartum monitoring.
• Experience with high-risk antepartum patients.
• Competent in Labor & Delivery, LDRP, and Mother/Baby care.
• Experience in a Level I Nursery.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Paragon charting system.
