L&D RN (Registered Nurse) – Los Angeles, CA – Contract
We are seeking a dedicated Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse for a contract position in Los Angeles. As an L&D RN you will provide compassionate care to laboring mothers and newborns, monitor patient status, administer medications, and collaborate with the healthcare team.
- Provide exceptional care to laboring mothers and their newborns.
- Monitor and assess the condition of patients during labor and delivery.

- Float between facilities as needed to provide comprehensive care.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
- AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required.
- Hospital fire and life safety card required.
- Minimum 1 year experience in a Labor & Delivery setting.

The Labor & Delivery RN provides specialized nursing care to obstetric patients throughout labor, delivery, immediate recovery, and stabilization. Responsibilities include continuous maternal‑fetal assessment, coordination with OB providers and surgical/anesthesia teams, and patient/family teaching.
- Assess maternal and fetal status, including contractions, labor progress, pain, and fetal heart rate patterns.
- Monitor for complications and promptly elevate urgent changes to the provider team.
- Administer medications, IV therapy, blood products, and obstetric interventions as ordered.
- Assist with induction, augmentation, vaginal delivery, c‑section readiness, and immediate postpartum recovery.
- Provide labor support, comfort measures, education, and emotional support to the patient and support person.
- Coordinate care with obstetricians, midwives, anesthesiologists, scrub staff, NICU, and postpartum teams.
- Initiate newborn transition support and facilitate safe handoff after delivery.
- Document assessments, interventions, outcomes, and patient response accurately and in real time.
- Valid CA RN license.
- Current BLS/CPR.
- 2 current supervisor references.
- Experience with high‑risk patients required.
Shift: 12 hr (8:00 PM‑8:30 AM). Minimum of 1 shift per week availability.
Per Diem opening.
As a hospice RN you will deliver compassionate, family‑centered care to patients and families in the hospice setting.
- Complete an initial and ongoing comprehensive assessment of patients and families to identify hospice needs.
- Provide physical assessment and history of current and prior illnesses.
- Utilize all elements of the nursing process to deliver professional care.
- Develop and implement care plans, revise as patient status changes.
- Manage pain/symptom control and document outcomes.
- Communicate with physicians regarding patient needs and orders.
- Teach patients and families self‑care techniques.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned.
- Minimum 1 year of acute care experience in an institutional setting.
- One year of home‑care experience preferred.
- Current state licensure.
- Understanding of hospice philosophy and the needs of terminally ill patients.
- Flexibility in work hours.
- Demonstrated nursing skills per competency checklist.
- Willingness to maintain comprehensive knowledge of information systems and applicable software.
- Ability to travel throughout the Bristol Hospice Service Area.
