- Registered Nurse for Home Infusion inserts, monitors and removes an IV used to give medications, blood products and nutrition to a patient.
- Monitors the patient for adverse reactions, ensures that tubing, bandages and needle stay in place, and performs veinous phlebotomy when needed.
- Obtains vital signs, completes physical assessment and review of systems, documents all patient-related activities and records medication use.
- Provides and coordinates all aspects of staffing services to the patient with assistance from Company Directors, Nursing Coordinator and Director of Nursing.
- Communicates with patients to determine problems and solutions regarding their treatment.
- Conveys collected documentation to all necessary internal and third‑party staff regarding scheduling and other pertinent patient information.
- Completes clinical notes and documentation, plans, schedules and coordinates delivery of patient care by all staff personnel.
- Current state RN license required with a minimum of two years nursing RN license in other states a plus.
- IV certification & experience in central line care and management.
- Experience with medical terminology.
- Experience in home care, critical care, emergency nursing, AIC or hospital discharge planning.
- Experience in staffing and ability to multi‑task with good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic level skill in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Willing to travel to patient homes and other health care settings.
- Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers, meeting quality standards and evaluating customer satisfaction.
- Registered Nurse Degree and licensed.
- CPR certification required.
- Experience with medical terminology preferred.
- Utilize the nursing process to schedule nursing visits per prescriptions and protocols.
- Coordinate SOC and ongoing nursing visits, confirm scheduled visits with patient and Nursing Agency/RN.
- Ensure schedule is sent out via email to team.
- Follow up on and enter Therapy Admin reports, email to team.
- Review all nurses’ notes for content and accuracy, ensuring drug dosing and administration timing are recorded.
- Communicate continuously with families, supervisors, field personnel and agencies regarding patient needs.
- Report problems and situations to the referring MD and appropriate MD office administrator and LUX Infusion nursing.
- Input, report, and search data as required.
- Communicate patient/employee information to answering services when needed.
- Understand company compliance paperwork.
- Perform duties in accordance with federal and state laws and with the highest ethical standards.
- Coordinate staffing in a timely manner while maintaining confidentiality and adherence to the compliance program.
- Insert intravenous cannulas; administer prescribed intravenous solutions and medications; monitor and maintain infusion sites and system; evaluate responses to therapy.
- Teach patients and caregivers to perform and monitor Home Infusion administration.
- Prepare clinical records, care plans and progress notes for each patient.
- Coordinate schedule of patient visits and phone calls.
- Work in patients’ homes and drive as assigned.
- Prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects.
- Maintain scheduling flexibility and work extra hours as required.
- Exercise careful attention to detail.
- Perform related duties as needed.
- Participate in quality assurance activities and audits as directed.
