RN - Labor and Delivery (Full Time, Night Shift) Job Summary

Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or an assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process. Supervise and direct the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff, and coordinate care with other disciplines while utilizing critical thinking, professional and supervisory discretion, and independent judgment.

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN):
  Preferred
• Acute care facility experience:
  Preferred

• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice:
  Required
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS, HS‑BLS, or RQIBLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy:
  Required
• Basic Life Support (BLS, HS‑BLS, or RQI BLS) certification:
  Required
• Hospital Fire and Life Safety (HLFS):
  Required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS):
  Required
• Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM):
  Required
• AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring course on hire and every two years for experienced nurses:
  Required

• Collect and analyze assessment data to determine diagnoses and care issues, develop and implement care plans, and evaluate progress toward outcomes.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare teams in a safe, healing, humane, and caring environment, providing learning opportunities and direct health information.
• Participate in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
• Delegate appropriately and coordinate duties of healthcare team members.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
