Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe PTU/PACU RN provides comprehensive preoperative and postoperative care for patients undergoing surgical and invasive procedures. Responsibilities include performing patient assessments, preparing patients for procedures, monitoring recovery from anesthesia, managing pain and postoperative complications, administering medications, and providing patient and family education. The RN collaborates with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, high-quality patient care and efficient patient flow.
This position supports the Operating Room (OR), Medical Procedure Unit (MPU), Cath lab, Interventional Radiology (IR) and other procedural areas, including participation in on call, evening, weekend and holiday coverage. The role requires strong critical thinking, clinical assessment skills, and the ability to provide safe, compassionate care in a fast-paced perioperative environment.

We are seeking a highly skilled, self-motivated nursing professional with:
- Current valid California RN license required.
- BSN or MSN required.
- minimum of 2 years of previous RN experience as PTU/PACU RN in an acute care facility required.
- BLS, ACLS from American Red Cross or American Heart Association required. PALS within 6 months of hire.
- Skill in implementing appropriate nursing interventions on a consistent basis.
- Ability to perform historical, physical and behavioral patient assessments.
- Ability to push, pull, lift, up to 35 lbs.
- Ability to develop and implement and evaluate patient care plans activity involving patients, family and staff.
- Must be able to take on-call, required.
