RN, Special Procedures
Observes, evaluates, and coordinates the care given to patients in the Special Procedures department. Participates in direct and indirect care of all related activities according to the policies, procedures, philosophy, and mission of the organization. Collects relevant data pertinent to the patient's health or situation. Analyzes the assessment data to determine diagnosis and care issues. Develops a plan that prescribes interventions to attain outcomes.
Implements the plan, coordinates care delivery, and employs strategies to promote health and a safe environment. Evaluates progress toward attaining outcomes. Identifies outcomes for the patient or the patient's situation. Connects EKG leads and alerts the doctor of any changes in patient condition. Records and analyzes hemodynamic parameters and calculates shunt, valves, and other data. Monitors patient status, analyzes EKG and hemodynamic parameters, and reports any changes to the physician.
Operates specialized equipment with accuracy and reports significant data and findings throughout all procedures for patients of various age groups. Collaborates with the team of patients, families, and healthcare providers in providing patient care in a safe, healing, humane, and caring environment. Provides learning opportunities for patients and team members. Directly provides health information to patients, families, and the treatment team.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned. This department performs before, during, and after care of invasive, interventional, and therapeutic procedures/studies. Provides treatment for cardiac and vascular disorders, rhythm abnormalities, device implantation and removal, and carries out therapeutic interventions.
