Peace Health is seeking an experienced PACU Registered Nurse to join our Pre-Admission Testing team
. If you have recovery room expertise and orthopedic nursing experience, this is an exciting opportunity to leverage your clinical skills in a collaborative, patient-centered environment and contribute to outstanding surgical care from the very beginning of the patient journey
- PAT RN:
Part Time, 0.8 FTE, Day shift position (8 hour shifts) - Competitive Base pay: $50.78 – $79.78.
- Primary duties include teaching our Total Joint replacement Class, with support from the partnering OR RN
- Calling patients 2-3 days in advance of their surgery with pre-surgical instructions
- Expansion of the role to include supporting the Endo Fast Track Patients (providing instructions and scheduling patients)
- Pre-Op responsibilities early in the day
- Supporting PACU as needed during a shift
Education:
Degree from an accredited School of Nursing Required
Experience:Minimum of one year RN experience required in ICU or PACU within last three years.
Credentials:- Required:
State of Oregon nursing license
- Required:
BLS (ACLS and PALS required within 6 months of hire)
- Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient’s needs (Required)

- Demonstrated ability to promote positive interpersonal relationships and patient/family centered work environment (Required)
- Able to support and interpret medical center philosophy, policy and procedures (Required)
- Basic computer skills (Required)
Perioperative Services
- Recovery/PACU Room:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 6 months.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 6 months.
Perioperative Services
- Critical Access Hospitals:
Operating Room & Short Stay:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 6 months.
Lifting
- Patient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without the use of assistive equipment and/or devices (NIOSH).
- Fine motor skills to be able to grasp and control medical equipment and perform precise procedures.
- Push/Pull:
Frequently up to 45 lbs. force (i.e., WOW, medical carts).
- Perform hands on CPR at least 20 mins using 100-125 lbs. of force (National Assoc. of EMS Physicians and AHA) Frequency should be seldom or occasionally.
- Ability to move around area with frequent sitting.
- Bending/ stooping/ squatting/ reaching/ kneeling frequently.
- Lifting (non-patient) up to 20 lbs. occasionally and 5 lbs. frequently.
- Exposure to biohazard, body fluids and airborne particles.
- Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy environment.
- Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted).
- Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
