About This Role

The Specialty Unit Staff RN in Labor & Delivery provides professional nursing care, utilizing the nursing process in accordance with established standards of care. This role is ideal for experienced nurses who are committed to delivering high-quality patient care in a dynamic environment.

What You'll Do
  • Provide professional nursing care utilizing the nursing process.
  • Uphold Kaiser Permanente's Policies and Procedures and applicable laws.
  • Serve as a leader of the health care team and delegate tasks appropriately.
  • Develop and contribute to individualized plans of care.
  • Monitor patient progress and revise care plans as needed.
  • Ensure patient safety and optimal pain control.
  • Document nursing processes and interventions accurately.
  • Participate in departmental performance improvement activities.
  • Maintain a safe environment and adhere to workplace safety principles.
  • Practice customer service standards and ensure patient confidentiality.
Requirements Education
  • Registered Nurse License (California)
Experience
  • 1-year recent experience in Labor & Delivery or completion of a KP L&D course within the last 12 months
Licenses & Certifications
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Advanced Fetal Monitoring Certificate required at hire or within 12 months
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required
