About This Role

The Specialty Unit Staff RN in the PICU provides professional nursing care, utilizing the nursing process in accordance with established standards of care, policies, and procedures. This role is ideal for experienced nurses who are flexible and committed to delivering quality patient care.

• Provide professional nursing care utilizing the nursing process.
• Uphold Kaiser Permanente’s policies and procedures.
• Serve as a leader of the health care team and delegate tasks appropriately.
• Develop and contribute to individualized plans of care.
• Monitor patient progress and revise care plans as needed.
• Ensure patient safety and optimal pain control.
• Practice customer service standards and maintain patient confidentiality.
• Act as a resource, preceptor, and mentor to new employees and students.
• Organize work to minimize the use of overtime.
• Participate in problem identification and resolution.

Education:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred

Experience:

• 1-year recent experience in PICU or completion of a KP PICU course within the last 12 months

Licenses &

Certifications:

• Registered Nurse License (California)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support
• Basic Life Support from American Heart Association
• Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Provider Certification or Pediatric Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Provider Certification within 6 months of hire
