Position Details

Registered Nurse Outpatient/Urology - Location:
Tarzana, CA 91356 - Schedule:
Monday-Friday - Shift: 8:30 AM 5:00 PM
- Active California RN License
- Current BLS Certification
- Minimum 2 years of ambulatory/outpatient RN experience
- Epic EMR experience required
- Experience with venipuncture/phlebotomy
- Perform nursing assessments and obtain/document patient vital signs.
- Review patient medical histories, medications, allergies, and health questionnaires.
- Provide direct nursing support for adult and geriatric Urology patients.
- Perform venipuncture, phlebotomy, and specimen collection.
- Collect and process clean-catch urine and other ordered specimens.
- Perform urine dipstick and urinalysis testing.
- Prepare sterile and aseptic procedure trays.
- Assist physicians with outpatient Urology procedures.
- Support urodynamic testing, PTNS, cystoscopies, urethral dilation, pelvic exams, and urinary catheter placement.
- Utilize bladder scanners and other Urology clinic equipment.
- Administer intradermal, intramuscular, and subcutaneous medications as ordered.
- Perform medication reconciliation and coordinate medication refill requests.
- Review laboratory and imaging results and communicate appropriate information to patients.
- Conduct telephone triage and patient follow-up calls.
- Provide patient education regarding procedures, medications, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
- Maintain universal precautions, infection prevention practices, and proper biohazard waste disposal.
- Accurately document assessments, procedures, interventions, and patient communications in Epic.
- Collaborate with physicians, phlebotomy staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
