Xpyro is a fire-protection technology company specializing in long-term wildfire mitigation solutions. Our patented Prefirex Long-Term Fire Retardant (patents granted in the United States and Canada) is designed to proactively protect structures and vegetation in wildfire-prone environments, especially at the WUI (Wildland-Urban-Interface) area.
We are preparing a controlled live wildfire prevention demonstration for private landowners and strategic stakeholders in Southern California. To ensure the highest safety and professional standards, we are seeking an experienced wildland fire professional to lead and supervise the field demonstration.
Role OverviewThe Wildfire Demonstration Lead will be responsible for the safe planning, execution, and supervision of a controlled wildfire mitigation demonstration on private land in either Los Angeles County or San Diego County.
This is a paid, short-term professional engagement with potential for continued collaboration in advisory, training, or technical field leadership roles.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and supervise a live wildfire mitigation demonstration
- Develop and oversee safety plan and operational risk controls
- Ensure compliance with local, county, and state fire regulations
- Coordinate with landowners and relevant authorities as required
- Assess fire behavior and environmental conditions
- Direct on-site personnel and equipment
- Provide professional credibility and technical oversight during stakeholder engagement
We are seeking candidates with strong operational credibility in Southern California wildfire environments.
Preferred profiles include:
- Current or retired personnel from CAL FIRE
- Experience with the Los Angeles Fire Department or the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department
- Wildland fire captains, division supervisors
- Fire behavior analysts (FBAN), safety officers, or wildfire instructors
- Wildfire consultants with controlled burn / prescribed fire experience
- Extensive experience in wildland fire suppression and/or prevention
- Demonstrated leadership in field operations
- Strong understanding of Southern California fuel types and fire behavior
- Valid certifications relevant to wildland (WUI) fire operations
- Strong communication skills and professional presence
