Our team has a diverse range of backgrounds that cover cloud computing to artificial intelligence, communications and sensing, embedded systems, and much more.
RoleSummary
We’re looking for an experienced Quality Specialist to own day-to-day quality execution on the manufacturing floor and help mature our QMS into a scalable system. This is an inspection-forward role with broad responsibility: you’ll run in-process and final inspection, lead MRB/NCR/CAPA, drive root cause and corrective actions to closure, and partner closely with Manufacturing and Engineering to improve yield and prevent escapes.
Responsibilities- Inspection ownership:
Conduct detailed incoming, in-process, and final inspections of parts and assemblies using drawings, CAD models, and documented processes to verify conformance to design requirements. - Manufacturing documentation review (risk-based):
Review and approve quality-critical specifications, manufacturing bills of materials (MBOM), work orders (WO), and build documentation for completeness, accuracy, and alignment with quality objectives. - Nonconformance leadership:
Manage non-conformances through the MRB process, including disposition coordination, containment, and documentation. - Corrective & preventive action:
Drive RCA and CAPA end-to-end using tools such as 5 Whys, 8D, fishbone diagrams, and others; verify effectiveness and prevent recurrence. - Quality metrics & improvement:
Track and improve key quality metrics including first pass yield, nonconformance trends, and quality escapes; lead continuous improvement initiatives with technicians, inspectors, manufacturing engineers, hardware engineers, and manufacturing management. - Anomaly resolution:
Identify, document, and help resolve production and test anomalies per established procedures; coordinate corrective actions as required. - QMS improvement:
Support the development, maintenance, and continual improvement of QMS policies and procedures, with an emphasis on practical, scalable processes that work in a fast-moving hardware environment. - Audit support:
Help plan and execute internal audits, supplier/vendor audits, and external audits to ensure ongoing compliance.
- 4+ years of experience in Quality / Manufacturing Quality / Supplier Quality (or similar) in a hardware production environment (electronics, RF, aerospace/defense, or complex electromechanical systems).
- Proven experience owning inspection + NCR/MRB + CAPA/RCA workflows and driving measurable improvements (yield, escapes, rework reduction).
- Strong ability to interpret mechanical/electrical drawings and use CAD models to support inspection and build conformance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication—able to document issues clearly and drive alignment across Engineering and Manufacturing.
- High attention to detail, strong judgment, and comfort operating in a dynamic startup environment.
- Experience working within or supporting compliance to ISO 9001 / AS9100 quality systems.
- Familiarity with electronics quality standards (e.g., IPC) and/or GD&T and metrology tools.
- Supplier quality experience (incoming inspection, SCARs, supplier corrective actions, FAIs/PPAP-style documentation).
- Experience supporting regulated or high-reliability programs (space/defense or similar).
