Mackie Myers is partnering with a Beauty Manufacturer on a Quality Assurance Manager.
About the Company
We are seeking an experienced and hands‑on Quality Assurance Manager to lead and oversee all quality assurance activities within our personal care manufacturing facility. This individual will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, customer requirements, and company quality objectives while driving continuous improvement initiatives throughout the organization.
About the Role
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in personal care, cosmetics, beauty, and skincare manufacturing, or related regulated manufacturing environments. Bilingual Spanish communication skills are highly preferred, as this role will interact regularly with a diverse production workforce.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the company's Quality Management System (QMS).
- Lead quality assurance and quality control programs to ensure products meet internal specifications and customer expectations.
- Develop, implement, and monitor Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), GMPs, quality standards, and compliance protocols.
- Oversee incoming material inspections, in-process quality checks, and final product release activities.
- Conduct internal audits and support customer, regulatory, and third‑party audits.
- Investigate product quality issues, customer complaints, and non‑conformances, implementing appropriate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Partner with Production, Operations, R&D, and Supply Chain teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Analyze quality metrics and prepare reports for leadership on key quality performance indicators.
- Train and mentor quality personnel and plant employees on quality standards, GMP requirements, and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with FDA regulations, ISO standards, customer requirements, and applicable industry guidelines.
- Manage quality documentation, change control processes, and record retention systems.
- Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes and reduce quality‑related risks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Quality, Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Engineering, Food Science, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- 5+ years of quality assurance leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS), GMPs, CAPA, root cause analysis, and audit processes.
- Experience leading quality teams and cross‑functional initiatives.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality reporting tools.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
Required Skills
- Experience in personal care, cosmetics, skincare, and/or beauty products manufacturing required.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is highly preferred.
- Experience with FDA‑regulated manufacturing environments.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 22716, or other relevant quality standards.
- Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification.
Pay range and compensation package
