Internship:
Natural Science Sector (Multiple Locations)
The internship offers an opportunity to support the work of UNESCO’s Natural Science Sector, which promotes sustainable development through integrated science programmes. Interns will contribute to projects aligned with international frameworks such as the 2030 Agenda, Paris Agreement, Post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework, and others. Areas of activity include natural resource management, biodiversity conservation, disaster risk resilience, water science, STI policy, and STEM education.
Job ResponsibilitiesParticipate in preparing and reviewing project documents, including drafting notes and technical annexes.
Assist in drafting briefing notes, progress reports and collecting research data.
Support communications through webpage updates and visibility materials.
Compile data for partnerships and fundraising activities, including note‑taking during meetings.
Provide logistical support for events, workshops, and conferences.
Contribute to tasks related to Natural Science Sector activities as assigned.
Job RequirementsAge: Must be at least 20 years old.
Currently enrolled in the final year of a Bachelor’s degree OR
Enrolled in or recently graduated (within 12 months) from a Master’s or PhD programme.
For technical/vocational tracks: must be in final year or recent graduate (within 12 months).
Languages: Excellent command of English or French. Knowledge of the second language is an asset.
Skills:
Strong computer skills with office-related software.
Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
Ability to work in a multicultural team setting.
Desirable
Qualifications:
Background in water science, hydrology, ecological science, earth sciences, engineering or related fields.
Benefits and EntitlementsLeave: 2.5 days per month, plus 1 additional day for every complete month.
