Data Scientist, Research Analyst
Daimyo Holdings is seeking a Biotech Equity Research Intern to join our Investment Team based in West Los Angeles, California. This internship centers on researching and analyzing publicly traded Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical companies with an emphasis on identifying strong Growth Prospects, robust Pharmaceutical Pipelines, and companies whose research and potential are undervalued.
This role is well suited for candidates pursuing an advanced degree in a life science field (e.g., Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, or a related discipline) who want to apply their scientific training to investment research. Prior exposure to equity research, private equity, venture capital, or investment analysis is a plus but not required.
Interns will support the buildout of in-depth models and presentations that explain early- to late-stage biotechnology and pharmaceutical products, their makeup, potential, competitive advantage, and intrinsic value. Being able to articulate why a company is investable or not is crucial, and all research must be supported by clear and concise evidence.
The role requires strong research skills, problem solving, and thorough critical thinking. Collaboration is desired and encouraged; you will interface regularly with external scientists, data specialists, and other medical professionals whose opinions, analysis, and research may be of use. Candidates must be intellectually curious and able to listen and communicate effectively with our senior investment staff.
