Laboratory Assistant III

The Department of Anesthesiology is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Laboratory Assistant III to support day-to-day research laboratory operations under the direction of laboratory staff. Responsibilities include preparing standard media, reagents, and solutions using established protocols; setting up basic equipment and materials for laboratory experiments; assisting with ordering and inventory of laboratory supplies; maintaining organized records and files; and supporting general laboratory organization and operations.

The position will contribute to the smooth and efficient functioning of the research laboratory while following established procedures and safety guidelines. This is a part-time limited position that may convert to career. Hourly range: $28.83-$34.31

Required:

• Experience in collection, classification and filing of scientific material and having appropriate scientific knowledge.
• Experience in preparation of charts, graphs and/or models involving experimental data.
• Ability to perform surgical procedures on animals without supervision.
• Ability to work well with others and give commands.

Preferred:

• Ability to modify media solutions.
• Ability to perform microtechnique procedures including knowledge of staining, and the ability to distinguish between treated and untreated tissue.
