Description
The Lab Asst. II will be conducting behavioral training experiments, brain sectioning and histology, and brain imaging data collection with mice. S/he will be responsible for data collection, for scheduling undergraduate students to run the same experiments, and to perform general laboratory duties, including the generating of spreadsheet data summaries in Excel. S/he will also be required to take part in lab and center meetings each week.
A Bachelor of Science degree in biological or equivalent or related fields is required. Experience handling mice is required.
Hourly salary range: 27.54 - 33.13
QualificationsRequired:
- Bachelor of Science degree in biological or equivalent or related fields
- Mouse handling and some experience with basic behavioral tasks
- Good PC Skills, with ideally some knowledge of python, R or Matlab
- Strong organizational skills and flexibility in responding to changing priorities
- Excellent verbal and written English skills
- Ability to work independently after training and some continued supervision.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to deal with and sustain cooperative working relationships with undergraduate students and lab scientists
- Ability to learn rapidly and follow through tasks with details
- Flexibility in working hours when needed
