Walker Cole are recruiting a Principal Scientist for a fast-growing biotech aiming to discover next-gen antibody therapeutics that traditional approaches struggle to find.
This is a bench-facing role focused on Immunology programs, leading discovery campaigns from concept through preclinical development.
What you'll do:- Lead design, discovery and optimization of monoclonal, bispecific and multi-specific antibodies (B-cell cloning, phage, yeast display).
- Run high-throughput screening (binding kinetics, ligand blocking, epitope binning).
- Own antibody expression, purification and characterization (SPR/BLI, ELISA, SEC, DLS, thermal stability).
- Partner cross-functionally with pharmacology, bioassay, translational biology and CMC teams, plus external CROs.
- PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Immunology or related field, with 7+ years' industry research experience in antibody discovery/engineering, ideally in I&I or metabolic disease.
- Strong track record in protein engineering, Fc modifications and develop ability assessment.
- Publications/patents a plus.
