Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior is seeking to hire a full-time Research Assistant to join our Integrated Substance Use and Addiction Programs (ISAP). ISAP is a multidisciplinary research center dedicated to advancing behavioral health through research, evaluation, and training focused on substance use disorders. The team works with community partners, healthcare systems, and criminal justice organizations to improve prevention, treatment, and recovery outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Recruit, screen, and schedule research participants
  • Conduct interviews and administer research surveys
  • Coordinate project meetings and maintain study documentation
  • Enter, review, and manage research surveys

  • Assist with literature reviews, reports, presentations, and manuscripts
  • Support study operations and communication with internal and external partners
Job Qualifications

Bachelors degree in social science, public health, psychology or related field (Preferred)

Experience conducting research interviews or collecting research data (preferred)

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Excellent verbal and written communication

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel

Experience using REDCap, Qualtrics, or similar research platforms (preferred)

Experience conducting literature review and summarizing research findings (preferred)

Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with sensitive information

Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds

As a condition of employment, the final candidate who accepts an offer of employment will be required to disclose if they have been subject to any final administrative or judicial decisions within the last seven years determining that they committed any misconduct; or have filed an appeal of a finding of substantiated misconduct with a previous employer.
