In this role as a Bartender, you will be responsible for preparing beverages and serving beverages and/or food to guests in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service.

• Maintains proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a daily basis, including requisitioning and stocking beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments and produce based on projections from the daily functions sheet.
• Responsible for maintaining stock, cutting, and storing of all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables daily to ensure product quality.
• Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner, promote and document orders for drinks. Mix, garnish and present drinks using standard ingredient recipes and prudent portion control. Check guests for proper identification. Detect and act upon guest inebriation as trained. Demonstrate knowledge of liquor laws.
• Input orders into a register at the point of sale and create a check for each guest and all personnel guests, including those served by other beverage servers, to maintain accountability of all beverages served.
• Receive cash from guests, make change as needed, verify charges, record charges, and ensure vouchers are properly executed, in order to balance all funds. Lock up and store all beverage, food and other equipment items, deposit cash drops and secure bank.

Ideal candidates will have two years of bartending experience in a high-end/luxury cocktail bar. Mixologist work experience and FORBES training are preferred. The candidate must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages, basic math skills for operating a cash register, and basic English writing skills for requisitions, balance sheets and vouchers. They should be able to read, speak and understand English to communicate with guests and take orders, promote the menu, and operate a keyboard and point-of-sale system.

Physical requirements include lifting up to 40 lbs, standing or walking for 8 hours, and the ability to work in confined spaces with or without reasonable accommodation. A flexible schedule including weekends and holidays is required. Must obtain Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) and California Food Handler Card within 30 days of hire.

The hourly rate is $21.40 and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.
