This vibrant gathering spot will feature 58 seats, a strong catering program, and a seasonal California-driven menu designed to serve both locals and the surrounding business district.

They are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead and elevate the BOH operations in Culver City. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, financially astute, and able to balance creativity with operational discipline. With significant creative freedom, the Head Chef will develop a seasonally driven menu, implement systems and structure in the kitchen, and mentor a BOH team while driving efficiency and profitability.
This is a rare opportunity for someone ready to take ownership of a kitchen, build systems from the ground up, and play a pivotal role in shaping the culinary identity of a new restaurant.
Head Chef Core Competencies Culinary Expertise- Mastery of cooking techniques, ingredients, and global cuisine styles to craft innovative, high-quality dishes
- Exceptional knife skills and precision in execution
- Strong knowledge of food allergens and specialty diets (vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian, etc.) to meet diverse guest needs
- Expertise in designing menus that balance creativity, seasonality, cost-effectiveness, and customer preferences
- Skilled in developing recipes, plating techniques, and presentation styles to keep offerings fresh and engaging
- Inspires, trains, and manages kitchen staff to achieve consistent excellence
- Builds a positive, cohesive, and efficient work environment
- Strong communicator who collaborates effectively with FOH and BOH teams
- Leads with fairness, equality, and professionalism
- Proficient in managing food and labor costs to maintain profitability without sacrificing quality
- Implements inventory and ordering systems to ensure freshness and minimize waste
- Builds and maintains strong, reliable vendor and purveyor relationships
- Adept at prioritizing tasks and managing time in high-pressure environments
- Streamlines kitchen systems and workflows for efficiency and consistency
- Quickly resolves issues such as equipment malfunctions or staffing challenges
- Comprehensive knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and health regulations
- Familiar with kitchen equipment maintenance, drainage, and ventilation requirements
- Ensures a safe and clean environment at all times
- Flexible and calm under pressure, able to adjust to menu changes, staffing shifts, and unexpected challenges with a proactive mindset
