Food Unit Lead

Job Summary

We are hiring immediately for a full‑time Food Unit Lead position at the Getty Center (1200 Getty Center Drive, Los Angeles, CA). The role offers a fixed hourly rate of $24.72 and requires a minimum of 3 years of prior leadership and grill‑cooking experience. The schedule is full time with open availability preferred; weekdays and weekends as needed.

• Provide quality customer service with one‑to‑one attention to detail.
• Oversee and participate in the preparation and service of food and beverage items following company standards for presentation, sanitation, safety, and portion control.
• Help plan menus.
• Ensure timely and efficient meal service; supervise the serving of meals.
• Respond to customer complaints in person and via email.
• Train employees; assign and coordinate work to promote efficiency and excellence.
• Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite workflow.
• Use required systems for daily, weekly, monthly reporting (inventory‑cash, production records, payroll, timekeeping).
• Handle cash properly as established in the Food Accounting Manual (deposits, petty cash, change funds).
• Order food and supplies from approved sources.
• Direct and participate in the overall sanitation and safety of the facility and employees.
• Develop sanitation schedules and ensure adherence for kitchen and dining area cleaning.
• Issue written and oral instructions.
• Select and orient employees; oversee staff training.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• 3+ years of previous leadership and grill cooking experience.
• Full‑time availability with willingness to work weekends.
• Ability to perform essential functions with or without a reasonable accommodation.
