WE ARE CURRENTLY HIRING A PART TIME BARISTA FOR OUR WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA CAFE LOCATION OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION
James Perse, California based lifestyle brand, is opening its first café in West Hollywood with a target opening date of early September 2025. The Barista will serve as a critical brand ambassador for the business by modeling and embodying the spirit and behaviours of the James Perse brand.
A great candidate for this role will be a quick and willing learner, have an eye for detail and an outgoing, confident and customer‑focused service style. Experience in a fast paced, top tier specialty coffee setting is a must.
Essential Duties AndJob Responsibilities
- Embody and demonstrate the excellence and spirit of the James Perse brand
- Deliver exceptional customer experiences in accordance with company standards
- Demonstrate mastery of the café menu and a strong grasp of general specialty coffee and tea concepts
- Prepare specialty coffee, tea and other items to exacting company standards
- Build community and rapport with regular customers
- Prepare bulk drink bases and cold brew, pre‑portion ingredients and other back of house prep tasks
- Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and organization throughout the cafe area
- Deliver orders to tables, clean dishes, bus tables and other general cafe tasks. This is a small team, and every person will share café responsibilities.
- Adhere to loss prevention and security policies, credit card policies, and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned by Store Management – e.g., receiving and verification of inventory, various back of house functions, cash duties, etc.
- Comply with all store/company policies, practices and procedures
- 6 months to 1 year experience in a fast‑paced specialty coffee environment
- Strong coffee knowledge
- Willing to learn how to educate and inform customers about coffee products
- Outgoing, friendly, and confident demeanor
- Passionate about building customer base and working on new concepts
- Physical requirements:
able to bend, stand for long periods of time, climb ladders, lift and move boxes up to 50 lbs. - California food handlers card required
This position pays $20.00 - $22.00 per hour plus tips.
