Restaurant Associates – Wine Bar Director
Position Title: Wine Bar Director
Salary: $90,000 – $100,000
Compensation: Competitive base salary + performance bonus
As Wine Bar Director at LACMA you will lead the wine bar operations within a highly visible, culturally significant campus. The role centers on operational excellence, service execution, team leadership, and consistency across daily service and special events. You will ensure the wine bar operates smoothly, meets service standards, and delivers a polished, welcoming guest experience aligned with the museum environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide leadership and oversight for wine bar operations, ensuring consistent service standards and guest experience.
- Support and guide Wine Bar Manager and service leaders in day‑to‑day execution and team development.
- Oversee service flow, staffing, and floor leadership across operating periods.
- Partner with culinary, events, and operations leadership to support receptions, donor events, and catered functions.
- Lead scheduling, labor planning, and service readiness.
- Manage inventory processes, ordering procedures, storage standards, and cost awareness.
- Ensure compliance with all alcohol service laws, safety standards, and sanitation requirements.
- Maintain a regular on‑floor presence to observe service, support teams, and resolve guest needs in real time.
- Review operational performance and service feedback and lead continuous improvement efforts.
- Experience leading beverage or front‑of‑house operations in a wine bar, restaurant, or hospitality‑focused environment.
- Proven ability to manage managers and develop service leadership teams.
- Strong understanding of beverage service standards and bar operations.
- Experience supporting high‑volume service and private events.
- Solid operational and organizational skills including labor oversight and inventory processes.
- Calm, guest‑focused leadership style with strong communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with culinary, events, and operations partners.
- Alcohol service certification as required by local regulations.
