Bakery Dispatcher ensures that bakery display cases are maintained well stocked with a variety of breads, pastries, deserts and cakes. Will safely and efficiently assist in maintaining all bakery department area clean. Offers assistance to customers needs to meet the goals and objectives of the department.

• Smile and greet all customers while providing extraordinary customer service.
• Aggressively merchandise product, keep cases full, rotate and stock as needed.
• Assists customers with special bakery and cake orders in store or over the phone.
• Assists in minimizing waste of bakery products.
• Follow Company price book unless directed otherwise by bakery manager, department supervisor, or corporate office.
• Prepares dough, batters, and mixtures for various breads, cakes, and pastry products as needed, which have been approved by department supervisor.
• Accurately prepares merchandise for sale (pack, weigh, and price), according to policy and adhering to weights and measures and labeling laws.
• Stocks and rotates baked goods to ensure freshness according to Company procedures and guidelines.
• Transports products to and from coolers and storage areas.
• Clean work area; sweep and mop floors, wash bakery equipment, supplies and utensils.
• Ensures favorable department image with customer through a clean, attractive and friendly department.
• Follow all health code regulations; ensure the highest standards of food safety, personal hygiene, and sanitation are followed and practiced according to health department regulations.
• Follow and practice Bakery Safety Program on the proper levels to use of approved cleaning chemicals.
• Follow company safety policies and communicate to management of any team member not in compliance. Be aware of co-workers and customer safety at all times.
• Keep all product displays with adequate product and proper signage; maintain products on display in good presentation and at the temperatures according to health department regulations.
• Abide by all store rules, and Company policies as stated in Company’s Team member Handbook.
• Communicates to department management when ingredients, supplies or baked goods are needed, to ensure adequate product for customers.
• Contact your bakery manager, store director or bakery supervisor regarding any questions, problems, and concerns.
• Ensure compliance to weights and measures, and labeling laws.
• Keep key personnel advised of whereabouts at all times.
• Report team member injuries and/or team member complaints of misconduct to bakery manager, store director, or department supervisor.
• Take rest breaks and meal periods as assigned and in accordance to Company policy.
• Treat co-workers and customers respectfully at all times. Do not use obscene and/or profane language while working.
• Work as a team member; assist and train coworkers when needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Must have a good attitude, friendly and courteous personality, and enjoy working with the public.

Must be able to count and perform simple math calculations.

Ability to learn to identify various kinds of breads, cakes and pastries.

Ability to learn to identify various kinds of bakery equipment, tools, and supplies.

Must be able to understand, speak, read and write basic English.

Must be able to understand, speak, read and write Spanish.

Must exhibit a responsible, professional, and positive attitude towards the job.

Must have good communication skills.

Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.

Must be able to transfer to other locations within a reasonable commute of home store.

Must be able to document ability to legally work in the US.

Ability to meet the physical requirement of the job.
