Overview

The General Merchandise (GM) and Food Sales team leads inbound, outbound, replenishment, and promotional signing processes for all GM areas of the store. This team conducts inventory accuracy, merchandise set-up and maintenance, and pricing processes for all areas of the store.

The team enables efficient delivery to our guests by supporting pick, pack and ship fulfillment work. The role focuses on store process and efficiency to ensure a consistent guest experience with properly stocked, priced, and signed merchandise on the sales floor.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests while completing daily tasks.
• Engage with guests to assist with their needs and solve issues.
• Thank guests and express appreciation for shopping at Target.
• Receive products, restock shelves, organize the backroom, arrange merchandise, and post promotional signs for GM areas as directed.
• Operate power equipment to move merchandise or store fixtures if certified.
• Execute processes including price changes, merchandise setup and maintenance, and inventory accuracy as directed.
• Learn how operations affect inventory management, store profitability, and product availability.
• Be knowledgeable about store resources, products, and services to resolve guest questions and improve their experience.
• Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety, and compliance at all times.
• Work safely, comply with safety policies, report hazards, and take corrective action where possible.
• Support guest services such as back-up cashier and digital fulfillment processes (e.g., picking, packing, and delivering pickup orders) while complying with applicable laws.
• Perform other duties as needed to meet business needs.

Physical and scheduling requirements

• Ability to handle cash register operations as needed.
• Ability to climb ladders and move merchandise safely, including lifting up to 44 pounds with or without assistance.
• Flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays, with reliable attendance.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures and conditions as required by job duties (e.g., Drive-Up, carryout).
• Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift.
