Position: Boutique Assistant (Long-Term Temporary Assignment) - Topanga

BOUTIQUE ASSISTANT - CARTIER, TOPANGARole Overview

The Boutique Assistant role will support the execution of the client experience strategy in the boutique with a 360° view that aligns with our Maison Values such as Open‑mindedness, Curiosity, Generosity, Sharing, Respect, Rigor, and Independence. The objective is to create the most exceptional client experience with the most productive environment and its people, all through the lens of hospitality.

Responsibilities
  • Build extraordinary client experiences through hospitality excellence.
  • Promote a warm and welcoming boutique environment to enhance the client journey that aligns with Cartier Values.
  • Assist front‑of‑house and back‑of‑house activities to facilitate seamless client experiences, focusing on client treatment such as appointment preparation, client entertainment, product presentation, and sales finalization (running product, gathering accessories, gift wrapping, food & beverage service).
  • Assist sales associates in setting the stage with impactful discovery and pre‑appointment browsing.
  • Support the flow of boutique traffic and daily management of the appointment booking tool (RDV) and queue as needed.
  • Enhance the boutique environment: support and maintain visual standards of wrap rooms and Client Services areas, replenish daily needs for sales and hospitality areas, support the order process and optimal storage organization.
  • Support client treatment and personal services including directions, restaurant reservations, entertainment requests, floral orders, and creation of maps, literature, and other materials.
  • Assist with phone duties, incoming calls, message retrieval, and appointment setting for phone inquiries.
  • Assist clients with quick service requests and personalization requests such as strap changes, watch sizing, steam cleaning, cord changes, engraving, embossing, etc.
  • Participate in daily set‑up and break‑down for opening/closing as needed.
  • Partner with the Operations Coordinator to manage stock maintenance of non‑sell‑allables.
  • Assist with special projects as needed.
  • Understand and comply with security and operational procedures, stay current on industry news, local/global competition, and community connection.
  • Strive for operational excellence related to the boutique environment and uphold standards.
  • Contribute to a positive and productive boutique environment by leveraging personal and team savoir‑faire to foster a highly collaborative network both in person and via telephone.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in luxury retail, service or hospitality industry is a plus.
  • Excellent computer skills, use of technology. MS Office experience required; SAP knowledge preferred.
  • Additional language skills are a plus.
  • Physical requirements:

    prolonged standing, walking, frequent bending or kneeling; lifting/moving up to approx. 45 lbs.; high energy, stamina, ability to work in fast‑paced environments.
  • Core physical demands: mobility – extensive standing and walking; strength – lifting up to 45 lbs.; flexibility – regular bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching.
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
  • Ability to climb stairs, work in multi‑level locations, tight or confined back‑of‑house spaces, and handle glassware during hosting and service operations.
  • Must be available to work retail hours (including weekends) and travel for training as needed.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills; strong attention to detail; ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with accuracy and precision.

Expected Hourly Range: $23 to $25 (overtime eligible). Please note, salaries will be negotiated based on relevant skills and experience. This position is payrolled through a third party.
