The Director of Service Deli & Prepared Foods is a full-time, on-site role based in Reseda, CA. This role oversees service deli and prepared foods operations across all JONS locations, including product selection, merchandising, food safety, quality standards, budgeting, sales performance, and profitability. Responsibilities include leading department managers, supporting staffing needs, ensuring policy execution, developing promotions, maintaining inventory levels, and improving customer satisfaction.

• Minimum 10+ years in deli, prepared foods, or food service management, with increasing responsibility.
• Prior leadership experience in grocery, food service, or retail environments, preferably in Service deli or prepared foods.
• Experience training, leading, and developing teams in a fast-paced food retail environment.
• Experience with budgeting and cost control to manage department financial performance effectively.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations, HACCP principles, and best practices for prepared foods operations.
• Strong customer service skills with a focus on delivering a high-quality guest experience.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, as required by store operations.

• Ability to analyze market trends, consumer data, and competitor activity to guide category strategies.
• Experience managing product assortment, including new item launches and discontinued items.
• Ability to set pricing strategies that balance competitiveness and profitability.
• Experience developing promotional plans and marketing campaigns with category managers.
• Ability to build supplier relationships and negotiate purchases and contracts.
• Experience managing inventory to meet customer demand while minimizing excess backstock.
• Ability to partner with store management and merchandising teams to support effective product displays.
• Ability to monitor category performance and use data to support business decisions.
• Willingness to participate in industry trade shows to identify new products and supplier opportunities.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds regularly (occasionally up to 50 pounds), during store and kitchen visits.
