Job Description & How to Apply Below

Le Fil is a needlepoint studio built around thoughtful design, high-quality tools, and a slower, more intentional approach to the craft. In June, we opened our first space in Los Angeles, Petit Le Fil, to better serve our community and support our expanding order volume.

This role is an opportunity to be part of an early chapter of Le Fil in LA. It is a position combining ecommerce fulfillment and in-store customer experience, with operations making up a significant portion of the day-to-day work.

The Role

As Store Manager at Petit Le Fil, you will own The Studio end to end: the in-store experience, the team, inventory, and fulfillment of our ecommerce orders. This is a working manager role. You will guide customers through canvases, threads, and projects in addition to packing web orders and receiving shipments. The right person loves needlepoint, leads by doing, and brings order and care to every part of the operation.

Responsibilities

Store & Customer Experience
  • Lead daily store operations, including opening and closing
  • Create a warm, thoughtful in-store experience and guide customers through canvas, thread, and stitch-selection
  • Keep the boutique clean, well-stocked, and merchandised to brand standards
  • Coordinate customer pickups and preorders
  • Support and host in-store events, including Stitch Nights and beginner classes
  • Own fulfillment of ecommerce orders: kitting, packing, and shipping with accuracy and care
  • Manage the preorder process: track incoming preorder inventory, fulfill orders as stock arrives, and keep customers informed on timelines
  • Manage shipping supplies, carrier pickups, and fulfillment timelines
  • Handle order-related customer service, including exchanges and shipping issues
  • Keep inventory accurate across the boutique and the online store in Shopify
Operations & Inventory
  • Manage receiving, restocking, and barcode workflows
  • Track incoming shipments from painters and vendors
  • Maintain organized systems across Shopify POS, Google Sheets, and our operational tools
  • Support trunk shows, seasonal launches, and peak-period operations
  • Supervise, schedule, and train the store team
  • Communicate with ownership on staffing, inventory needs, and store performance
Qualifications
  • 4+ years of retail management or equivalent leadership experience
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities
  • Reliable, self-directed, and calm under pressure
  • Comfortable with repetitive, precision-based work alongside leadership responsibilities
  • Comfortable with technology;
Shopify or Shopify POS experience a plus
  • Hands-on and team-oriented, with no task considered too small
  • Able to lift and move boxes weighing 40+ lbs as part of inventory and shipping duties
Details
  • Full-time, in-person at our Los Angeles boutique; weekend availability required
  • Hourly, non-exempt
