Summaryof Responsibilities

Food AccessLAis seeking a part-timeassistantto provide on-sitesupportto the Hollywood Farmers’Market. The Hollywood Farmers’Market isFood AccessLA’s oldest and largest market andoperatesevery Sunday from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM.This position requires working Sundays at the market (6:30 AM - 3 PM).

Hollywood Farmers’Market(Sundays 6:30 AM–3:00 PM)

Support Manager, Hollywood Farmers’ Market with the tasks related to the on-site operation of the Hollywood Farmers’ Market which include, but are not limited to:

Operateandassistwith physical set-upandtake-down of the Information Booth

Serve as the primary on-site Information Booth staff person

Gather,organizeandmaintainmarket supplies

Respond toquestions, concerns, and inquiries from vendors, customers, volunteers, and community partners.

Communicate market policies, activities, and rules to all vendors

Check in, orient, and provide on-site training and guidance to market volunteers

Assist vendors with proper placement in stalls

Enforce Food AccessLA rules and other pertinent Regional, State, and Federal laws and regulations (Direct Marketing, California Retail Food Code, etc.)

Maintain market grounds and assure the market site is clean once the market is closed and vendors have left

Distributeloadlists, market memos,andother marketcorrespondencetomarketvendors

Maintainmarketsupply inventory and organize market storage space

Support special eventsand market programming such as food demonstrations, cultural celebrations, book signings, etc.

Facilitate and recordmarketand

Food Access LA merchandise sales,conductingperiodicinventory counts

REQUIREDSKILLSAND

EXPERIENCE:

Fluency in Spanish highly preferred

Excellent organizational and time-management skills

Exceptional people skills and verbal communication skill set

Experience or interest in farmers’ markets,community health,nutrition, foodassistanceprograms, and community outreach.

Experience working collaboratively withand ability to community effectively witha wide variety of individuals, businesses, and organizations.

DESIREDSKILLSAND

EXPERIENCE:

Familiarity with the Hollywood Farmers’ Market or Hollywood community

Experience working at a Certified Farmers’ Market (vendor, management, staff,etc)

Experience working with underserved, low-income communities withawarenessand integrity.

PHYSICALDEMANDANDWORKENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required tostand, walk, lift, talk, hear, reach, stoop, and kneel.

Work will take place outside in rainy, hot, or cold weather conditions, which may occasionally require standing for up to 2 hours, or lifting up to 50 lbs. May perform related duties as assigned by management.
