Bilingual Flagship Store Manager & Launch Project LeadA global consumer lifestyle brand is seeking an experienced Bilingual Flagship Store Manager & Launch Project Lead to lead the development, opening, and ongoing operation of a new flagship retail location in the Los Angeles area.
This is a unique opportunity for a hands-on retail leader who can manage both a complex store-opening project and the day-to-day operation of a high-profile retail destination. During the pre-opening phase, this individual will coordinate site evaluation, store construction, vendor relationships, merchandising, staffing, and operational readiness. Following the launch, the position will transition into overall leadership of the flagship store, with responsibility for sales performance, customer experience, team development, and operational excellence.
The successful candidate will be fluent in Japanese and English and comfortable working across cultures, time zones, and business practices. This person will serve as an important liaison between U.S.
-based teams and stakeholders in Japan.
- Lead the flagship store project from initial planning through grand opening.
- Support the evaluation and selection of potential retail locations in the Los Angeles market.
- Coordinate with executive leadership, real estate partners, architects, contractors, designers, and vendors.
- Develop and manage project timelines, budgets, milestones, dependencies, and deliverables.
- Monitor construction, fixture installation, technology setup, merchandising, staffing, and operational readiness.
- Provide clear and timely project updates to U.S. and Japan-based stakeholders.
- Identify project risks, delays, and operational challenges and develop practical solutions.
- Ensure the store is fully prepared for a successful and on-time opening.
- Lead all aspects of daily flagship store operations following the launch.
- Develop and execute strategies to achieve sales, profitability, and customer-service goals.
- Deliver an engaging, high-quality customer experience consistent with the brand’s standards.
- Establish and maintain store policies, operating procedures, inventory controls, and loss-prevention practices.
- Monitor sales, customer traffic, conversion, average transaction value, labor, and other key performance indicators.
- Use performance data and customer insights to identify business opportunities and improve results.
- Ensure compliance with applicable employment, safety, security, and operational requirements.
- Execute visual merchandising strategies that create a compelling and consistent brand experience.
- Oversee product placement, store layouts, fixtures, displays, signage, and promotional materials.
- Partner with Marketing, Product, and Operations teams on seasonal launches, promotions, collaborations, and special events.
- Monitor product performance, inventory levels, replenishment needs, and sell-through.
- Maintain high standards of store presentation, cleanliness, and visual execution.
- Recommend merchandising and assortment improvements based on customer behavior and sales trends.
- Lead the recruitment, selection, onboarding, and training of the flagship store team.
- Build a high-performing, collaborative, and customer-focused workplace.
- Establish clear performance expectations and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
