THE ROLE
We’re looking for a sharp, organized, and self‑motivated Assistant Merchandiser to support our Senior Merchandiser across the seasonal product lifecycle and overseas production. This is a hands‑on role for someone who wants to grow inside a fast‑paced, design‑driven denim/contemporary brand — someone who thrives on structure, anticipates what's needed before being asked, and takes genuine ownership of the details that keep a merchandising calendar on track.
This role is based in‑person at our Downtown Los Angeles office and starts part‑time (approximately 3 days per week) with the potential to expand into a full‑time position as the business grows.
- Support in building and maintaining seasonal assortment grids and product trackers
- Help prepare and organize materials for line reviews, sales meetings, and cross‑functional check‑ins (design, production, sales, planning)
- Maintain our B2B and ERP platforms (JOOR, NuOrder, and AIMS
360) — setting up new styles and keeping product data current - Maintain and track WIP (work‑in‑progress) for overseas production, ensuring approvals and deliveries stay on schedule, and flagging delays or gaps proactively
- Maintain and track for fabric orders and inventory
- Communicate consistently and clearly with cross‑functional partners, vendors, and showroom teams
- Assist with competitive shopping and market research across denim and contemporary brands to identify trends, pricing, and whitespace opportunities
- Take on ad‑hoc administrative and project‑based support as the merchandising calendar demands
- 2–3 years of experience in merchandising, product development or production at an apparel brand
- A true self‑starter — someone who takes initiative and doesn't wait to be told what's next
- Highly organized with sharp attention to detail; comfortable managing multiple trackers and deadlines at once
- Strong proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets (pivot tables and VLOOKUPs a plus); hands‑on experience with PLM, ERP, or B2B platforms such as AIMS
360, WFX, JOOR, or NuOrder is a strong plus - Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A genuine passion for fashion and product — someone who shops the market and knows the competitive landscape
- Calm, adaptable, and solutions‑oriented under deadline pressure
- A collaborative team player who's equally comfortable working independently
- Able to reliably commute to our Downtown Los Angeles office in person on scheduled workdays
- This role is structured as a part‑time, hourly position (target of 3 days / 24 hours per week) with room to grow into a full‑time, salaried position as responsibilities expand. Pay is based on industry benchmarks for assistant/junior merchandising roles at contemporary denim brands in the Los Angeles market for a candidate with 2–3 years of experience.
