The A&D Business Development Manager is a senior, field‑based role responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of interior designers and architects within specified target geographies in the US. This individual contributor role is ideal for someone with deep experience in the design space, a passion for cultivating long‑term client relationships, and a strong track record of expanding engagement within an existing book of business.
This position is offered on a full time basis, working a mixture at home and out on the road. The ideal candidate should be based in the Los Angeles or San Francisco region.

As a key representative of the Farrow & Ball brand, the Business Development Manager plays a pivotal role in driving project specifications, sampling activity, and brand visibility through high‑touch outreach—including studio visits, virtual meetings, events, and local activations. This role sits at the core of our designer sales strategy and offers a unique opportunity to help shape and scale a high‑potential channel within an iconic and well‑established brand.
Whatwe expect from you as an A&D Business Development Manager
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow a portfolio of designer and architect accounts within a defined territory, focusing on relationship‑building and increasing engagement.
- Support existing clients through regular in‑person visits, virtual meetings, product training, events, and CEU presentations.
- Ensure accounts have up‑to‑date access to colour tools, samples, and brand resources to drive ongoing specification and brand loyalty.
- Expand share of wallet by uncovering new projects, specification opportunities, or cross‑category needs within current accounts.
- Reactivate dormant clients and reengage lightly active designers through thoughtful, personalized outreach.
- Achieve sales activity benchmarks and contribute to quarterly revenue goals for the North America Team.
- Represent Farrow & Ball at trade shows, showroom activations, and local market events to support brand awareness and client retention.
- Act as a knowledgeable, solutions‑oriented brand ambassador—providing product education, sampling guidance, and project support.
- Partner with the Senior Manager A&D Sales on territory strategy, performance reporting, and the development of local business plans.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with Marketing to execute client‑facing campaigns, event activations, and targeted communications.
- Maintain accurate CRM records of client engagement, project pipelines, and sampling activity to support visibility and reporting.
- Significant experience in A&D sales or an adjacent premium B2B category (e.g., furnishings, textiles, surfaces, or architectural finishes)
- Strong understanding of the interior design process, including sampling, specification, and project timelines
- Proven success in managing and growing an account portfolio with a focus on retention and client engagement
- Experience owning a territory and balancing proactive outreach with relationship nurturing and follow‑up
- High level of independence, initiative, and problem‑solving ability
- Willingness to travel within the territory and attend industry events, including occasional evenings and weekends
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time‑management skills
