Position: Account Executive (Games)

The Opportunity

We are looking for a highly motivated and creative Account Executive to join our dynamic sales team. The ideal candidate is someone who loves media planning, creating awesome campaigns, and working cross‑departmentally to deliver results. This role will play a critical role in the entire pre‑sale and post‑sale process. From brainstorming innovative campaign ideas to building compelling proposals, you are the engine that helps bring our advertising partnerships to life.

This sales role is a fantastic opportunity for a driven individual with agency or media planning experience to grow into a client‑facing sales position. If you like making connections, working with people, and thrive in a fast‑paced environment – this is the role for you!

This is a hybrid position in Los Angeles, CA with a requirement to work out of our offices 3 days each week. This role generally follows a standard full‑time schedule. Due to the nature of this role, there is an expectation for this role to be comfortable with working outside of a standard schedule from time‑to‑time for client needs and events.

Domestic and international travel is required for this role for attendance at client meetings, client entertainment, team meetings, and industry events. This role primarily involves computer‑based work with extended periods of sitting or standing and regular use of hands and vision for tasks such as typing. Occasional travel is required, which could include lifting and carrying materials, and navigating airports, hotels, and other venues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sales planning responsibilities including building media plans (Excel) and RFP response decks.
  • Support your Manager/Director to help your sales team hit or exceed quarterly and annual revenue goals.
  • Play an active role in RFP submissions – for example, participating in brainstorms with the Creative Solutions group and crafting proposal decks to position IGN media capabilities in the marketplace.
  • Act as a trusted resource for your partners (agencies and clients) by recommending and putting together proposals that meet their marketing objectives and needs.
  • Effectively communicate, author presentations/proposals, and demonstrate value of IGN to partners.
  • Sell multi‑platform solutions, including Desktop/Mobile Display/Video Ads, Native Apps, OTT, You Tube, Facebook, Snapchat, Twitter, Instagram, Data & Programmatic.
  • Provide comprehensive marketing campaign recommendations leveraging integrated sponsor ships, digital video, social and efficiency media tactics.
  • Track and manage RFP pipeline, pending, and booked business and be able to speak to the current volume of team revenue.
  • Ability to adapt quickly and evolve with the ever‑changing digital landscape, including learning how to sell and position new products and platforms.
  • Ability to work cross‑functionally with departments and key stakeholders internally and externally.
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively under tight deadlines, while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Act as an expert in the gaming and entertainment space by staying current with industry trends.
  • Actively train and supervise Sales Coordinators to oversee post‑sale campaign management and execution.
Job Qualifications

The Must‑Haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of demonstrated experience in a support role within a sales or digital media agency environment.
  • Excellent written, presentation and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to listen, adapt, and think quickly on your feet.
  • Excellent relationship‑building skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office:
    Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to analyze data and use research tools (Google Analytics, Comscore, etc.).
  • Ability to learn internal operating systems quickly with training (Adforce1, Salesforce, Trello, Google Analytics, etc.).

Not Required, but Nice‑to‑Have:

  • Passion for gaming and entertainment is a strong advantage.
  • Previous sales or agency experience is preferred.
