With our team located in Los Angeles, CA, Karuna Skin LLC operates two brands, Karuna Skin and Avatara. Karuna has been leading beautiful breakthroughs for over a decade, from our launch as the first US sheet mask brand in 2009 to a comprehensive daily skincare line sold nationwide in Whole Foods Market and globally in select hotels, spas and beauty retailers like Mecca.

Karuna's sister brand, Avatara, was created in 2017 to bring safe, fun, and effective skincare solutions appropriate for tween, teen, and young skin needs and can be found in Target, Walmart, CVS, Whole Foods Market and select grocery locations nationwide.

A career with Karuna is an opportunity to join a collaborative, upbeat, open floor-plan office that welcomes idea-sharing, communication, and teamwork. We offer a competitive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, and much more.

JOB DESCRIPTION

In this role, you will own the full planning cycle that connects what we sell to what we make and stock. Sitting at the intersection of demand, supply, and wholesale revenue, you will forecast how much product each retailer will sell through, ensure inventory keeps pace with that demand, and build the bottom-up sales plan the business runs against. You will manage the delicate balance between supply and demand, maintain the integrity of our data systems, and serve as a vital link between our suppliers, our retail partners, and our internal teams.

This position can be filled at the Planner or Senior Planner level depending on experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Demand & Inventory Planning

  • Build and maintain the demand plan across your assigned SKU portfolio, translating retailer forecasts, historical velocity, seasonality, and promotional activity into a rolling unit forecast.
  • Track sell-through by retailer (Walmart, Target, CVS, Whole Foods Market, Amazon, and others) to understand how quickly each account is moving product at shelf, and convert that read into replenishment and inventory requirements.
  • Determine reorder timing and quantities so that on-hand and in-transit inventory keep pace with each retailer’s demand — preventing both out-of-stocks and excess.
  • Reconcile sell-in (shipments to retailers) against sell-through (consumption at shelf) to flag accounts that are building or depleting inventory, and adjust the plan accordingly.
  • Maintain an optimal inventory level — ensuring high fulfillment rates for customers while keeping working capital lean and minimizing excess.

Supply & Production Planning

  • Develop and execute production and supply plans for your assigned SKU portfolio, balancing domestic and international demand with manufacturing capacity.
  • Actively monitor the 12-month horizon to identify potential supply gaps and compare demand against potential sales opportunities to stay ahead of constraints.
  • Proactively manage Slow-Moving and Obsolete (SLOB) inventory, recommending rework or sales opportunities to keep the warehouse fresh.
  • Participate and serve as the point of contact for our suppliers in weekly order reviews to ensure items are delivered on time and in full (OTIF).
  • Secure firm delivery commitments for packaging and finished goods, and escalated any deviations from our demand plans.
  • Monitor actual production output against committed plans, and drive solutions when gaps appear in the manufacturing schedule.
  • Maintain the backbone of our ERP/MRP systems, including lead times, MOQs, safety stock levels, and BOMs.
  • Partner with Marketing and Product Development to navigate New Product Development (NPD) launches and Phase-In/Phase-Out (PIPO) transitions.

Wholesale Revenue Planning

  • Build the company’s annual wholesale sales plan from the bottom up — by SKU, by store/account, and by sell-through rate — to produce a defensible, granular topline revenue target rather than a top-down estimate.
  • Actualize sales monthly, comparing plan versus actual at the SKU and account level, and clearly explain the drivers behind each variance (distribution changes, velocity, promotions, timing).
  • Reforecast on a regular cadence, incorporating month-to-date actuals, sell-through trends, new distribution, and promotional plans, to land on the most…
