Compensation$4,418.00 – $9,321.00 per month.
Position Details- 12‑Month Limited Term (full‑time)
- Location:
Los Angeles County (Seal Beach Office, field settings) - Hybrid telework available
- Salary grades: A, B, C (listed)
Under close supervision of a Senior Environmental Scientist, the Environmental Scientist will:
- Permit and review projects under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), California Endangered Species Act (CESA), and Lake and Streambed Alteration (LSA) within the South Coast Region Habitat Conservation Planning Program.
- Comply with applicable laws, regulations, CDFW policy, and procedures protecting biological resources.
- Collect and analyze environmental data, prepare technical reports, and assess statutory and regulatory impacts.
- Maintain cooperative relations with wildlife agencies, stakeholders, and the public.
- Apply scientific methods, evaluate environmental research, and handle stakeholder communications.

- Excellent communication, negotiation, and teamwork skills.
- Experience in habitat assessments, fish and wildlife surveys, and permitting.
- Knowledge of California and Federal environmental regulations.
