Triumvirate Environmental, one of the largest environmental services firms in North America, is seeking an Environmental Specialist for our Lab & Onsite Support Services (Lab/OSS) team. The Environmental Specialist will support client sites by managing hazardous waste programs and projects in accordance with state and federal regulations.

Overview:
Triumvirate Environmental serves higher education, life sciences, healthcare, and advanced manufacturing sectors with diverse compliance management services. This role is based on-site at client locations in Thousand Oaks, the San Fernando Valley, and Northern Los Angeles areas and reports to the Operations Manager.

Responsibilities
  • Develop an understanding of OSHA regulations and Triumvirate’s Health and Safety practices.
  • Prepare chemical and biological waste for shipment and disposal, including creation of federal/state waste documents and managing associated paperwork.
  • Safely handle hazardous waste containers on client sites and perform loading/unloading of waste from vehicles.
  • Conduct safety equipment and hazardous waste inspections.
  • Occasionally perform and document Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) audits for clients.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by providing outstanding support and innovative solutions to clients.
  • Develop a high level of state and federal regulatory expertise to meet clients’ compliance needs (e.g., RCRA, DOT, OSHA).
  • Conduct spill response measures, including assessment and cleanup efforts.
  • Rotating on-call responsibilities as part of the Emergency Response team (optional).
Basic Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in the hazardous-waste industry, or relevant military experience.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities to interact with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders in a clear and professional manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex issues, develop solutions, and implement effective strategies.
  • Ability to build strong, positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to work overtime on a regular basis and flexible hours (Monday through Friday).
  • Willingness to complete a 2–3 year professional advancement program in hazardous waste management.
  • Safety-sensitive role involving handling hazardous chemicals and biological waste; you will wear appropriate PPE.
  • Must report to the Santa Fe Springs office within 1 hour during Emergency Response rotating shifts if opting into Emergency Response responsibilities.
  • Valid US driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Consent to motor vehicle record screening, criminal background check, pre-employment physical, and drug screen (including THC).
  • Participation in a random drug screening program as a condition of employment.
  • Eligible to work in the United States without future sponsorship.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds on a regular basis.
Preferred Requirements
  • Prior relevant industry experience.
  • Prior successful experience in a customer service role.
  • Active HAZWOPER 24 or 40 hour certification.
  • Willingness to obtain Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
  • Willingness to travel to support other regions.
