Lab Technician
The UCLA School of Dentistry is seeking a Lab Technician to support operations within the DDS student laboratory. The incumbent will oversee more than 100 student workstations, ensuring that all equipment, instruments, and supplies are properly maintained and available to support student learning. Working closely with the Director of Student Labs, the Lab Technician will help manage the daily operations of the laboratory and ensure a safe, efficient, and productive learning environment.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with dental materials, equipment, instruments, etc. (Required)
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions. Follow through with assignments, identify discrepancies, and communicate issues. (Required)
- Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) in English. (Required)
- Excellent organization skill and attention to detail. Ability to maintain neat and accurate files and supplies. (Required)
- Ability to communicate and work with a diverse cultural community consisting of faculty, staff, students, and vendors. (Required)
- Ability to perform basic mathematical computations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and percentages). (Required)
- Ability to work independently and in cooperation with other sections, e.g., Continuing Education, State Bard Coordinator, etc. (Required)
- Demonstrated ability to work in an ever-changing environment, shifting priorities, and adapt to noises in the laboratory. (Required)
- Demonstrated skill to take stock of supplies and to determine the need for ordering to ensure continuous availability. (Required)
- Ability to organize work activities, policies and procedures, operations in an understandable and logical manner. (Required)
- Working knowledge of computers (PC) with familiarity with software packages such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint, and other database programs. (Required)
- Demonstrated ability to maintain consistent and reliable attendance. (Required)
Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations:
- Bachelor's Degree BS or in related fields (Preferred)

- Background Check:
Continued employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background investigation. - Live Scan Background Check: A Live Scan background check must be completed prior to the start of employment.
- Age Requirement:
Candidate(s) must be 18 years or older to be eligible to be hired. - COVID and Flu Vaccinations:
The position is subject to providing evidence of inoculation. - CANRA:
The position is designated as a mandatory reporter under CANRA. The employee must sign the "Statement Acknowledging Requirement to Report Child Abuse".
