Langan is seeking a Senior Biologist to join its collaborative team in Los Angeles, CA
. This individual will support a broad range of infrastructure, transportation, utility, energy, and development projects throughout Southern California. Responsibilities include leading biological resource surveys, special-status species investigations, permitting support, biological monitoring, restoration monitoring, and regulatory compliance activities.

• Lead nesting bird surveys, biological resources and habitat suitability assessments, vegetation communities classification and mapping, plant and animal species inventories, special status plant and animal species surveys, jurisdictional delineations, resource constraints analyses, and tree surveys;
• Develop permit application packages for ACOE, CDFW, USFWS, and local agencies;
• Coordinate with field teams and project managers to implement permit conditions;
• Travel to job sites inremote locations; and,
• Work in construction environments where schedule, timeliness, and attention to detail are top priorities.

• Bachelor's degree in biology, wildlife biology, ecology, botany, environmental science, or related field;
• 3-6 years of biological consulting experience in Southern California;
• Experience conducting habitat assessments and special-status species surveys;
• Experience supporting large infrastructure or utility projects;
• Experience with biological compliance monitoring during construction;
• Experience with agency coordination and permitting support;
• Experience preparing permit applications and coordinating with USFWS, CDFW, USACE, Regional Water Boards, and local agencies;
• Familiarity with CEQA, NEPA, ESA, Clean Water Act, and California Fish and Game Code requirements;
• Experience with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Field Maps, Survey
  123, and GPS-based data collection;
• Excellent technical writing and communication skills;
• Ability to travel and perform fieldwork in varying environmental conditions.
