Job SummaryResponsible for ensuring the safety and security of guests, staff, and property at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Coordinates security activities, enforces policies, and collaborates with other departments and local law enforcement.
Essential Duties- Respond to all security needs and calls for service; collaborate with security team members and local law enforcement as necessary.
- Train, counsel, discipline, evaluate, and supervise security personnel in accordance with Legends Global Security Department policies.
- Manage hours of all security officers, including 24‑hour staff and event security.
- Proactively enforce LACC policies and procedures; ensure timely response and follow‑up to violations and complaints from guests, clients, and employees.
- Follow all rules and regulations outlined in the policies and procedures manual and ensure compliance by security personnel.
- Work with Guest Services staff to manage large crowds in constantly changing event environments.
- Assure property is secure and prevent damage due to visitor negligence or vandalism.
- Operate and monitor security systems such as CCTV, fire control, radio communications, elevators, and lighting controls.
- Develop and maintain an effective employee and visitor photo credential program.
- Collaborate with the VP to update policies, procedures, and the Emergency Evacuation Plan.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of three (3) years of security‑related work experience. Legends Global/AEG Security experience may be considered 2:1.
- Valid California State Guard Card.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and effective interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of human behavior, crowd management principles, and the ability to implement effective crowd control techniques.
- Ability to provide training and direction to new hires.
- Ability to create, explain, and maintain an employee roster/schedule.
- Varied work schedule including late hours, early mornings, extended hours, holidays, and weekends.
- Reliable transportation.
- Professional representation of Legends Global and LACC.
- Two (2) years of supervisory experience in a sports venue, entertainment, or convention facility.
- Previous law enforcement and/or military experience.
- Experience interviewing and screening candidates for department positions.
- Knowledge of scheduling software.
Responsibly stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk or hear regularly; occasionally sit. Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
Work EnvironmentWork exposed to outdoor weather, fumes or airborne particles, and moderate noise levels. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required. Must comply with all Federal, State, and Local regulations, written instructions, and company work rules.
